My garden has been through a lot of metamorphoses since we moved here nearly 18 years ago. It started off block paved with flower borders, After a few years, when the kids were older and did not need the playing space, I took up the central flags to create a planting area, then put in a water feature in the centre, and then decided to dig out the centre area and create a pond. The pond had been there for nearly ten years but as the garden needs to be child safe again, I am in the process of filling in the centre area to create a planting area again. Watch this space !!!There is not a published plan for this garden yet.
Gardening expertise
Keen but Clueless
Biggest gardening accomplishments
Digging out my pond ten years ago - I must have lost pounds doing it! It looked wonderful for some years and the fish loved it.
Biggest gardening frustrations
Spending two years thinking about clearing the pond of mess, bricks thrown in it from the lovely children next door! thinning down the grasses that seem to be out of control, but never getting round to it.
The gardening project I am currently working on
Filling in the pond now, having moved 2 ton of top soil to fill it so another few pounds lost! Its virtually finished, just need to reset some paving slabs around it where a particularly virulent weed keeps coming through the gap between! I also need to
