Get help identifying a plant here. Post images of plants you are trying to identify and give us a description of the plant. Please take a few images and post them all into the same 'forum topic thread'.

Images should be close-up of flowers, leaves, fruit and far away to give a sense of the scale and shape of the plant. Please add a description e.g. if the plant is evergreen, when it is blooming, height etc. It is always nice to have both the flower and leaf.

We will do our best for you to help identify it!

Care instructions

Question from Stephen

I inherited a pot plant, I think it needs repotting but am not sure exactly what it is. I know it needs little water, leaves are smooth to stroke in one direction but rough if you try to run your finger up a leaf, leaves eventually go brown and wither leaving the stem at the centre

Can you identity this plant?

Comment from Andy Hutchinson

Pale purple star cup shaped flowers from a black / green case. Leaves are dull green with small black spots on top. Grow up to 6 inch long, veined.
Plant is 1 metre tall, hard but not woody black / green stem. Deciduous? Perinneial???
